High Blood Pressure
I am sure everybody shares in the feeling of (almost) surprise to see how our loved ones changed after 4 years of absence.
We grow older, fatter, slower, funnier, more stressed, less stressed & unfortunately, sometimes, sicker.
What is it with modern medicine that a lady of 74, with osteoporosis, can be prescribed 13 different pills to take daily and she is feeling sicker than she has in years?
Or a man of 75, who has never been sick in his life, now has high blood pressure and ends up taking 4 tablets a day - 1 for the high blood pressure, one for cholesterol, one for the diarrhea brought on by the other 2 and one for the headaches he now regularly gets!!
Has medicine gone mad? Or are we too readily accepting the diagnoses of wellmeaning but overworked health workers?
